eu estava há um tempo querendo fazer um ensaio sobre flexibilidade. fiquei pensando que o contraste do assunto (flexível e forte) e do suporte (frágil e rígido) podiam ser interessantes para criar uma tensão. para dizer da maleabilidade, pensei imediatamente na contorcionista Luu Li. o material de suporte seria o vidro. passei a pesquisar imagens da história do contorcionismo para me inspirar.
fiquei bastante tempo lendo sobre a historia da acrobacia e do circo, mas afinal, ao ver a imagem de um corpo feminino muito flexível impressa sobre o vidro e apertada num grampo tipo sargento, me dei conta que meu assunto passava pela contorção, mas eu queria mesmo era falar – de uma forma delicada e contundente – sobre opressão.

I had been wanting to do an essay on flexibility for a while. thinking that the contrast of the subject (flexible and strong) and of the support (fragile and rigid) could be interesting to create some tension. to mention the malleability, I immediately thought of the contortionist Luu Li. the support material would be glass. I started researching images from the history of contortionism for inspiration. I spent a lot of time reading about the history of acrobatics and the circus, but in the end, when I saw the image of a very flexible female body printed on the glass and pressed into a clamp, I realized that my subject was contortion, but I wanted to it was even talking – in a delicate and forceful way – about oppression.
